COVID 19
The good old British weather means we can never be too complace. So be prepared and keep your heating system in working order.
Follow these simple steps and keep warm.
- Make sure your boiler is serviced annually, this will ensure your boiler is in proper working order and safe.
- Check TRV’S (Thermostatic radiator valves) are in good condition this will provide independent temperature control in every room, can significantly improve comfort for householders by providing satisfactory heat distribution around the home. This is not achieved without TRVs, even if the system is balanced.
- If you’re having problems with some radiators heating up and others not, the system may need balancing, Venting or power flushing.
- Regularly check the pressure gauge on a pressurised system. This will normally be around 1 – 1.5 bar but look up the recommended setting in the manual for your particular boiler.
Do not try any boiler repairs yourself, no matter how tempting it is.
If there is a problem with your boiler, do not open it and try to fix it yourself. Always ensure that whoever does work on your boiler is Gas Safe Registered.
Ask the engineer to show you his Gas Safe Card and check that the dates are correct for the year. Call the Gas Safe and check the number is valid.
